My Friend…

An omnipotent power is pulsing beneath this thick blanket of uncertainty and fear tucking us in every night lately.

You have to believe me.  And if you can’t just yet, I urge you to remember. Every single time in proportions large and small, when life threw some black ice your way, you stumbled and broke your spirit for a second...But in time, you rose up. You did.

Our lives are collections of finely produced disintegrations that birth beautiful resurrections. The bigger the crash the grander the transformation and this is no different.  Other than that it may actually be grander than them all. We are all called to resurrect together.

A miraculous thing happens when we are pushed to the edge. When we truly are scared. We have exhausted the list of things we can get busy with to help the situation; wash your hands, keep your distance, wear a mask and stay inside. Please. But, this pretty much sums it up. That is it.

How about sitting back and consciously releasing the control?  If ever there was a time that we have gotten a full permission to do so, simply not having a choice, it is now.  If there ever was a time that we have time and incentive to breathe and infuse all we do and say in our day with due meaning, it is now.

At best, our experience on this planet affords us a perception of control that puts us at relative ease. Not so much these days.

This is the biggest unknown of our lifetime. There is nothing we do, no matter how perfectly that guarantees anything.  Never mind when and how will this end or improve. I quiver with fear just writing these words, I am scared.  But there is a part of me feeling joy in simplicity of letting go, in prayer and connecting to the power of love beholding us all; simplicity in trusting and knowing that we are not alone. I recognize that just like in all challenging times before, this is the moment I am finally forced to get out of my own way.

Unfortunately and often in life, we don’t grip on faith until experience appears hopeless. But beauty in it is that we finally stop trying to busy-fix the world completely on our own.  In reality, I believe this is when an experience becomes more hopeful than ever.

Taking the time to be fully present in our “I love yous” and our “I am here for yous” is the luxury we can afford right now and we must!  This is a chance to truly feel our prayers, to muster meaningful positivity and courage...The process will not only strengthen our faith muscle,  it will afford us more peace and perception shifts needed to experience miraculous solutions to challenges of today and challenges of tomorrow.
